Monitor Spare Parts Kit
Spare parts are shown here in a special display case, but they are delivered in a practical, easy to stow, bag.
Every experienced sailor knows that the key to successful cruising and good seamanship is to carry tools and spare parts for the equipment onboard. We strongly recommend all Monitor owners to carry the Monitor Spare Parts kit. We have many examples of Monitors making complete circumnavigations without the skipper touching the spare part kit. The maintenance part in the extensive Manual is only a few short paragraphs!
The kit contains parts that will eventually wear. These parts are made in delrin. If you want to do maintenance, you might consider to change some of these parts after 15 -20,000 miles to make the gear like new. The old parts should be saved for emergency. A Bearing Kit is also available at a reasonable price. The spare parts kit also includes hard to find replacement parts. The base price of the Monitor includes both a Monitor and a light airvane as well as an extra safety tube. The price of the kit is subsidized to encourage every Monitor owner to purchase it. We hope that you never will have to open it but one day you might be grateful that you have it.
